WordPress Websites and Blogs
My journey as a freelance web designer started with blogs. I had been working as a software engineer for a number of years. While on maternity leave, I began blogging about my experiences as a new parent. Through my blog, I got to know lots of parenting bloggers in the Irish community. I had the technical knowledge and skills to help with some of the issues other bloggers were having. As the years went by, I was blogging less, but I continued to add to my skills – particularly for building wordpress websites.
Sadly, the golden era of the blog is over now. However, these same services are applicable to most websites. Many of the prolific bloggers from a decade ago have gone on to publish books, or started successful businesses. Blogs are no longer their main focus, but websites are essential for small businesses, restaurants, authors, freelancers, consultants…
Thanks to my background in software development, I can do more than just website design. I offer the extra flexibility of being able to write code and solve more complex website issues.
Need a fresh look for your website?
I can help you choose a new theme for your website, and do the installation and initial configuration for you.
Or perhaps you’re happy with your website design, but your current theme is difficult to work with, and is no longer supported. I can change your theme while replicating as much of the current design as is possible.
Hosting
Has your hosting become too expensive? Hosting companies offer great value to new customers, but once your website is up and running the cost of hosting can rise dramatically over the years.
I offer step-by-step advice and instructions on purchasing your new hosting. I can handle the entire hosting set-up and configuration, and I will back up and migrate your website to your new hosting account.
If you already have a website or blog hosted on wordpress.com, I can help you migrate it to a self-hosted wordpress website – Why go self-hosted?
Online Store
There are a number of plugins that can add the functionality of an online store to your website. These systems let you add products for sale to your website, handle payments, and process orders for your customers.

Why Use WordPress?
WordPress is one of the most popular platforms for blogs. It is both user-friendly and search engine-friendly. It’s a highly flexible content management system and a great choice for running your blog.
Looking to move your WordPress website from wordpress.com to self-hosted?
